After a hard-working day in Korea, the locals would think of Gukbab as their comfort food.

First opened in 2010, Gukbab intends to be the home-away-from-home dining destination for Koreans in Melbourne.

Oppa Kevin prides himself in his homemade recipes on Gukbab’s menu that remind him of his mum’s authentic home cooking.

Each dish is carefully prepared to honour the Korean traditional flavours.

What a cool little Korean restaurant. Awesome spot for a quiet dinner date or a catch up with mates before going out. Very friendly staff, the food came out so quickly and was so tasty. The cheesy chicken was my favourite. Highly recommend! Check it out!

Pork bulgogi is a delightful dish from Gukbab. Kevin the chef/owner of Gukbab has been working wonders in the kitchen bringing the best of Korean food to Melbourne. The delivery on Saturday was high quality and a crowd pleaser. A Melbourne gem.

We had an absolutely delightful feast at their newly renovated venue! Thoroughly enjoyed everything ranging from Seafood Pancakes, Japchae, 8 flavours of Korean Fried Chicken to Army Stew and Braised Beef Stew - all these are so delish. Best to pair with Korean beers, soju & makgeolli. Heartwarming Korean family style dishes, friendly staff and cozy seating. Can’t wait to be back for more!

Delicious, hearty and filling food that doesn’t break the bank. The portions were WAY bigger than expected, but didn’t skimp on quality at all. The ginseng chicken soup surpassed all my expectations. I had no idea that the chicken would be filled with rice, but it was a lovely welcome surprise. There was even a ginseng root in the soup. 10/10 would recommend.
